Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival

This year marks the 21st anniversary of the popular Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival, which takes place on the banks of the Creekside River in Creekside Park, Gahanna. Every year, roughly 30,000 visitors flock to this event to listen to the hottest blues and jazz musicians in the U.S., while also enjoying a host of other activities and amenities on offer. Visitors can, for instance, take a relaxing paddleboat ride down the creek or attend one of the various tasting experiences. These include bourbon and whiskey tastings and cocktail tastings where participants learn how to craft their own unique cocktails!

The festival showgrounds also feature various food stalls that offer an array of sweet and savory options, as well as amusement rides and a Family Fun Zone that provides craft-making activities for kids. However, it’s the music that steals the show at this festival. Visitors are treated to over 90 hours of world-class blues and jazz on five stages during this three-day event. This year the festival will take place from June 19 to June 21, so be sure to book your ticket in advance!

Festival Latino

Festival Latino has humble beginnings. Way back in 1996 when the City of Columbus initiated a five-hour pilot project, they had no idea that the response would be so overwhelming. This led to a two-day festival in 1997 and since then, Festival Latino has grown to become the biggest Latin event in Ohio. The 25th iteration of this event will once again be held in Genoa Park, running from Aug. 8 to 9.

This event is jam-packed with fun events and activities that the whole family can enjoy, including live music, an abundance of food vendors that offer delicious Latin-American cuisine, a visual artists’ showcase, community information tents, a dance plaza where anyone can show off their moves, and cultural and art workshops for both children and adults.

The Columbus Food Truck Festival

Named the best Foodie Event in the state by Ohio Magazine 2017, the Columbus Food Truck Festival will celebrate it’s 10th anniversary this year. From Aug. 14 to 15, this foodie event will once again take place on the Scioto Mile, which includes Genoa Park, Bicentennial Park, Washington Boulevard and Park, as well as Rich Street Bridge.

This year, the festival will once again feature over 60 of the best mobile food vendors in the region, as well as arts and crafts stalls, and various family activities. The festival also boasts two stages where up-and-coming musicians will be showcasing their talent.

These are only three of a host of exciting upcoming summer festivals in Columbus this year. To avoid missing out on all the fun, book your tickets in advance!
