2020 White Toyota AvalonIf you’re looking for a sleek and stylish large sedan, the completely redesigned 2019 Toyota Avalon offers the high-quality materials and features that you’d expect in more expensive models. Trim levels offered are XLE, XSE, Touring, and Limited, with all but Touring available with a hybrid powertrain option. Here are some of the features that should put the Avalon at the top of your list.

Exterior Design

From the front end with its wide, deep grille and tangential vents, through the scalloped aerodynamic profile, to the sporty rear end, the Avalon looks like a thoroughbred performer. The XLE features a chrome-accented grille, LED headlamps, distinctive daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, power heated door mirrors, LED taillamps, and dual chrome exhaust tips.

XSE trim offers a sport mesh grille, 19-inch wheels, a power moonroof, rear spoiler, and quad chrome exhaust tips. Touring models add front and rear dynamic turn signals, and auto-dimming mirrors with memory. Limited trim has 18-inch SuperChrome wheels, while hybrid Avalon models have unique model-specific styling features.

Interior Styling

Inside, the driver-focused cabin of the Avalon combines contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship. XLE trim has simulated leather seating with heated power front seats. You’ll also find dual-zone climate control, a 7-inch multi-information display, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

XSE models feature faux leather-trimmed suede seating, and aluminum accents, while Touring trim has ventilated and heated front seats, heated second-row seats, a head-up display, and ambient lighting. The luxurious Limited has wood trim and premium leather upholstery.

Infotainment

Keeping you connected on the go is a multimedia system with a 9-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, voice activation, Bluetooth, and an eight-speaker audio system with HD radio. The XSE adds wireless smartphone charging, while Touring and Limited trims have integrated navigation and a 14-speaker premium JBL sound system.

Power and Performance

Gas-powered Avalon models feature a refined 3.5-liter V-6 engine producing 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated to a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission and it makes the Avalon Toyota’s most efficient and powerful non-hybrid vehicle. You can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 6 seconds, and for slick manual shifting, XSE and Touring models feature paddle shifters.

Hybrid-powered Avalon models have a four-cylinder 2.5-liter engine paired with two electric motors to produce a total of 215 horsepower. They feature a continuously variable transmission. Fuel efficiency doesn’t mean lack of performance and the hybrid can take you to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds. All Avalon models offer a supremely smooth ride and precise steering for agile handling.

Driver Assistance Technology

All Avalon trim levels feature the Star Safety System, which includes four-wheel ABS, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, smart stop technology, vehicle stability control, and traction control. Also standard are blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and Toyota Safety Sense with full-speed adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with assisted steering, and automatic high beams.
