Enjoy Wildights at Columbus Zoo

Wildlights is an annual holiday tradition held at Columbus Zoo, which is one of the city’s bigger attractions. The event runs from November 15th to January 5th, 2020 and brings out lots of Central Ohio families. 

When you experience Wildlights, you’ll see millions of energy-conscious, holiday-themed LED lights, as well as Santa Claus himself! Keep an eye out for animated light shows with festive music, reindeer, and other cheery holiday fun.

Obviously, this is very exciting for the kids, and helps kids of all ages to get into the holiday spirit. However, you should be aware that Wildights will be closed on Christmas Eve, along with Christmas Day.

Experience First Night Columbus

When New Year’s Eve Day rolls around on December 31, 2019, wait for sundown and then get ready to head for Downtown Columbus, so you can experience the wonders of the First Night Columbus celebration! This is another annual Columbus event that’s beloved in the local community.

If you attend, you can ring in the New Year as you enjoy live entertainment, activities, and fireworks. This celebration is family-friendly, so don’t hesitate to take the kids! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be on hand to mingle with attendees and take selfies with them, which your children will really enjoy that – you might, too! You’ll need tickets for this special event, which runs from 5:30 p.m. until midnight.

Drop by Columbus Winter Beerfest

If you’re looking for a festivity that’s all about the grown-ups, you’ll probably love dropping by Columbus Winter Beerfest! This event is slated for January 17th and 18th, 2020. The Beerfest will be held at Greater Columbus Convention Center and the address is 400 N High St. You’ll need to be 21 to attend this event as well as a ticket. If you want to attend, without actually drinking, you may be eligible for a discounted Designated Driver ticket – be sure to ask.

Stroll Around the German Village

To drink in a bit of history, culture, and holiday vibes, be sure to enjoy the Village Lights at Historic German Village. This wonderful event really captures the spirit of the season – you’ll love strolling the streets of this gorgeous heritage area and seeing the holiday lights. This event kicks off on December 8th, 2019. As a bonus, the German Village is a great place to do a little Christmas shopping while you enjoy yourself!
