So how exactly do these Toyota’s run so efficiently? They utilize smaller engines and innovative technology! A smaller engine needs less gas, so the sheer size of the engine makes a huge difference. Plus, the above models have engines that use direct fuel injection, a neat system that measures the fuel intake more precisely than conventional, old-school fuel-injection systems. Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (Dual VVT-i) also helps fuel efficiency by adapting to the vehicle’s real time speed and load. Pretty cool systems!
