2020 Toyota Tacoma
The 2020 Toyota Tacoma is a reliable and robust addition to the company's lineup for this model year. Take a look at our list of its best features. We're sure something here will catch your eye.
Trim Levels
The 2020 Tacoma trims include the SR, SR5, SR V-6, SR5 V-6, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, and the Limited. This truck has a trapezoid-shaped grille with a grated design, and the Toyota emblem is featured prominently at its center. The body of the 2020 Tacoma has a rugged, powerful look. Exterior features include manual-folding mirrors, reverse-opening rear passenger doors, and skid plates at the base trim. Higher trims get integrated pickup storage, conventional rear door options, a class four trailering kit with a harness and hitch, and turn signal equipped mirrors.
Engine
The 2020 Toyota Tacoma rolls off the lot with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine providing 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque or a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine producing an impressive 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. The Tacoma is capable of switching between rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive as needed. The transmission on the four-cylinder is a six-speed automatic and the transmission for the six-cylinder has an optional six-speed manual transmission.
Performance
The performance of the 2020 Toyota Tacoma varies wildly based on the trim and configuration chosen - between engines, trim, cab, and bed options, there are more than 30 possible combinations! The maximum towing capacity of the truck varies between 3,500 pounds and 6,800 pounds. It can carry a payload of 1,095 to 1,155 pounds and has a maximum tongue load of 640 pounds. The visibility granted by the new headlights is excellent; this was one of the primary factors in it winning the IIHS's top safety pick award.
Interior
The Tacoma gets a nice tech upgrade for 2020, with a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system at the base trim and an 8-inch version on the higher trims. Both of these systems support Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Most vehicles only support the last two, so the addition is a solid one! Wi-Fi Connect with up to 2GB of data is available, as are a set of seven premium JBL speakers, wireless phone connectivity, SiriusXM satellite radio, voice-activated radio, and a pair of first-row LCD monitors.
Convenience features include a proximity key with remote start and keyless entry, a voice-activated GPS navigation system, a retained accessory power system, auto-locking doors, a concealed interior storage bin, five USB ports, distance-pacing cruise control with steering wheel controls, automatic temperature control, a Safety Connect emergency communication system, a HomeLink garage door transmitter, a pair of 12-volt DC power outlets, a first-row express sliding and tilting glass sunroof, one AC power outlet, and even more!
Safety Features
At every trim level, the Toyota Tacoma comes with the high-tech Toyota Safety Sense P system. This suite of safety features includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, auto high-beams, sway-warning, and forward-collision warning and avoidance. This is an impressive combination of safety features for lower trim levels.
