Trim Levels
There are three trim levels available for the 2020 Toyota 86: the 86, 86 GT, and 86 Hakone Edition. As you consider ordering any of these models, imagine it in your favorite color. Available in a variety of paint colors including Neptune blue, ablaze red, raven black, and steel, all three have stunning LED headlights and taillights, complementing their already elegant exterior. Fog lights are standard on the 86 GT and Hakone Edition.
Three different wheel options are available, depending on which trim level you choose. The 86 uses 17.0-inch twisted spoke alloy wheels, while the 86 Hakone Edition sports 17.0-inch bronze-colored twisted spoke alloy wheels. You'll enjoy upgraded wheels on the 86 GT as this model runs on 18.0-inch split-spoke alloy wheels. These special wheels are also an option for the 86.
Engine
Anyone checking under the hoods of the three trims will find the same engine there: a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder horizontally opposed engine. The block of this Toyota 86 engine features 16-valve cylinder heads and dual variable valve timing, producing a healthy 205 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
The 2020 Toyota 86 focuses on power and strength, whether you're on an open road or using track conditions. When driving on twisty mountain routes, the standard Torsen limited slip differential helps improve low-end acceleration and acceleration out of the corners.
If you're using the car under track conditions, take advantage of the vehicle stability control Full Off mode. On top of that, the vehicle's sport tuning allows you to turn off all of the stability assists. With these settings, you're in full control, allowing you to maneuver this car as you deem fit!
Interior
Step inside these heart-pounding sports cars, and you'll see a race-inspired interior. All three trims feature a leather-wrapped, ergonomic steering wheel. The Interior of the 86 and 86 GT features black leather with red trim, adding to the sporty feel of the car. The Hakone Edition changes the interior to black and tan. Beyond the sporty interior look, the 86 features a 7.0-inch touch screen, and you can connect both Apple and Android products to the car. Toyota has built audio controls into your steering wheel, with a USB media and a charging port just in front of the shifter.
Safety Features
The 86, 86 GT, and 86 Hakone Edition trim levels all come with Hill Start Assist. This feature keeps the car from rolling backward on a hill as you switch from the brakes to the gas. The Smart Stop Technology helps reduce the engine power when you step on the gas and brake pedals at the same time. Also, the 2020 Toyota 86 comes with six airbags to protect everyone in case of a crash.
